THE USS Wisconsin Radio Club

The purpose of the USS Wisconsin Radio Club is to promote public interest in the Battleship USS WISCONSIN, BB-64, the United States Navy, Nauticus National Maritime Center, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum and Norfolk, Virginia.  We serve as volunteer Goodwill Ambassadors for the Tidewater community.  We strive to display our wonderful hobby, Amateur Radio, to the public in a favorable way and to help educate young people about Radio Communication and its usefulness to the Navy.  By means of “Ham Radio” many persons throughout the United States and the world will learn about the presence of this great ship in our Historic Seaport.  Our services are provided without charge.

December 7th, 2000
The USS Wisconsin arrives in Norfolk (Nauticus) for public display.

N4WIS Event Calendar

Special Announcement!

This weekend is "Museum  Ships on the Air" weekend.  Saturday was a short day when the N4WIS special event station had to be shut down and abandoned .  Temperatures on the Deck of the Wisconsin reashed 125º F, creating a hazard for the operation of the ship.  They chose to close it down in the interest of public safety.

We will be operating again Sunday Morning starting about 10:30 AM and running until 4:30 PM (we hope.)

Come by and chat with us, we would love to have you in the shack!

As of now our new QSL information is:
